no age 'nouns'

haribo7989 [Edit] [Delete] 14:30, 16 September '08

i don't think it's a bad album by any means, but if this is what critics are reduced to spunking over, then it may be time to pack it all in...
in all fairness, all it is is some very average tunes drowned in a load of feedback, and some token shoe-gazy tracks thrown in there as well..very disappointing when you consider the hype.
also, it prompted one of the most embarassing sentences i've ever seen in a Pitchfork review: ''Ultimately, it's part of No Age's allure that Nouns is so difficult to figure out, that it manages to be so big while coming from a place so small: All you'll know for sure is that you want to listen longer. Maybe forever.'' - i mean, what??? what the fuck?? how can you write something like that and not feel like a complete and utter bell-end?? i'd have cringed if i wrote that at the age of 12..
in general, this is the worst year i can remember for being led up the garden path by critics: vampire weekend, glasvegas etc...
am i just crazy or does anyone agree
