Grandfather's Return

commandercool [Edit] [Delete] 15:12, 31 August '05
I've had an idea for a while now of writing a gothic short story, entitled "A Grandfather's Return". But instead of presenting the story using words or pictures, i'm going to try to create the feelings, imagery and a form of plot using just instruments. So the piece would take the form of a short(ish) instrumental album.

However, I need some influence and help with several things. I need to know:

- What gothic novels can I read/research to get more of an idea for the flavour and feeling of the piece?
- Does anyone know where I can find out a basic knowledge of some Victorian medical practices?
- Any similar musical ideas that have been released that I might be able to get my hands on?

Does anyone have any ideas?
