The first academic conference on Metal, complete with it's own rubbish academic pun name. There are some very interesting topics discussed here though. Unfortunately you can only download a couple of the papers, but I just read the 'Fuck euphemisms' one and it was a pretty good read.

So, what are your thoughts on this? Is metal worth academic study? (definitely IMO) Got any interesting theses or unproven hypotheses of your own? Studied metal yourself? (post a link to your study, or other interesting metal related articles if you want)
