just cos you write songs about serious stuff doesn't make them good. remember starsailor? i mean jesus, listen to 'flowers and football tops', all he does is sing 'baby' over and over again, it's hardly poetry. i hear there's a song on the christmas album about the homeless that's about as subtle as a brick. it really annoys me, and then you hear them compared to the Mary Chain, a band who didn't give a shit and who were as far from righteous Bono-like bombast as you can get.
