i've always been fully on the side of those who say its wrong for a major label to drop a band after one album performs poorly or they can't cash in anymore on the band.

But from listening to Weezer just now, had they been dropped after the commercial failure of (the brilliant) pinkerton, i can't help thinking we might not have had to endure the complacent nonsense which followed.

Just a thought.
