My dad's record collection - Major haul

yes_ [Edit] [Delete] 22:08, 20 December '08

My dad kept all his old records at my aunt's house and I got to go through and pick out a fair few today. Most of the albums I picked because i've never heard th ebands before but having the album is a good opportunity to listen to them, regardless of knowing what they sound like. I didn't even get into the box with all the zappa and hendrix, which was a shame, but one day... He had the original gatefold of electric ladyland with all the prostitutes on it. I presume all the others are original pressings cos they're from the time. Gaze at this list:

beatles - I am the walrus 7" single
beatles - let it be
leonard cohen - songs of love and hate
bowie - station to station
bowie - low
bowie - the man who sold the world
bowie - let's dance
beatles - abbey road
bowie - ziggy stardust
bowie = hunky dory
beach boys - LA
bowie - scary monsters
crosby, stills, nash and young - 4 way street
gordon lightfoot - the best of gordon lightfoot (if you could read my mind, ya know, like trigger happy tv)
some terrible looking elton john record i took for the cover
neil young - harvest (gatefold)
jackson browne - for everyman
handel - messaih
record of alec guiness reading TS elliots the wasteland
pink floyd - wish you were here
marvin gaye - lets get it on
john cale - fear
elvis costello - punch the clock
xtc - go 2
beatles - white album
the who - quadrophenia
xtc - drums and wires
can - future days
fairport convention - angel delight
blondie - parallel lines
woodstock soundtrack
the who live at leeds
lou reed - transformer
hendrix in the west live album
bruce springsteen - darkness on the edge of town
ivor cutler - dandruff (fuck, no record in the sleeve. Was really looking forward to this one)
music from singing detective
tom waits - rain dogs

and finally, a harry enfield comedy 7".

Fuck yeah. What should I listen to first?
