How do you Midi-sync a laptop, a metronome and other devices for live work?

Fortune_Favours [Edit] [Delete] 16:07, 9 January '09

Hi,

My band have a laptop running cubase/reason live, our drummer plays to a click which he gets from an isolated metronome and we also have a synth and a kaoss pad 3 that we would like to all be on the same midi signal so that when we start a song on the laptop it tells every device the bpm and starts at the same time.

DOes anyone know how this is possible?

We've got basic knowledge, we've used the kaoss pad as a master before to tell the synth midi clock just going midi out to in and it worked fine.

Any ideas gratefully recieved!

Thanks.
