This might be a bit of a long shot on here, but maybe someone has some advice. A close friend of mine lost a family member over Christmas, and it's all coming out now that there are some debts to be paid, and there's talk of bailiffs coming in in about a month to recoup losses from whatever's left in the house.

There is a collection of thousands and thousands of records in the house. A medium-sized room, filled up to the brim. He is survived by two children, who, in all liklihood, are going to need all the money they can get in the next few years. They're loathe to sell them, but they may have to.

So, my question would be: are they likely to be ripped off by a private broker? I know such people exist in the book reselling market, so I'm assuming they do here too (pay a set amount for 'taking it off their hands,' then reselling individual items for a profit). Put them in storage? I'm assuming that'd be incredibly expensive over time. Perhaps there are impartial advisors they could pay to examine the collection?
