Music Social More…

does anyone else feel a pang of dissapointment when lyrics aren't included in the album sleeve?

michael_w [Edit] [Delete] 16:39, 15 January '09

actually.....saying that....its probably more accurate to say i just get a kick when lyrics are included, as oppossed to being too dissapointed when they aren't.

but anyway

why would a band/artist choose to show, or not show, their lyrics in the sleeve?

is it more and more common or less?

how does it affect cetain genres more than others?...

purely economical/design reasons?

i got a feeling bands think its pretty square to show their working, and we should...just like...y'know....try and guess what lies beneath the slurrs and the garble....which could be a point in itself i supposse

mark e smith has got a thing about this hasn't he?...never showing lyrics....i seem to remember a quote

anyway, i dunno... then....there's that whole theory about seeing the lyrics written down clearly....and it taking away the mystery of the song....detaching the words from the music etc....

anyway.....

any thoughts?
