So, I'm doing music for this film and the director wants what he describes as 'Paranoid, tense, coiled spring'. Anyone have any suggestions for tracks that capture this sort of atmosphere?

The less abrasive the better, I realize these themes in music tends to lean towards the dissonant and atonal, but I wouldn't get away with a Merzbow/Throbbing Gristle soundtrack, it'ld put too many people off the film.
