Woebies / House of Strange / J-Wo / Deadcats

You're in a JAG, deal with it.

The Woe Betides (www.myspace.com/thewoebetides) will be releasing their debut EP on the 26th January through Songs in the Dark Recordings. To celebrate we're having a little party in Shoreditch tomorrow night (Thursday 22nd January) and we're getting a few of our friends involved:

Playing live on the night will be the HOUSE OF STRANGE - also known as the Shed of Odd, the Hut of Nuts and the Dwelling of WTF?! - complete with all the usual Weird Gubbins that follows them (look out for their forthcoming live film featuring a gaggle of dancing buffoons, balloons, confetti, flashing lights, smoke, an oboe solo, and an inherent peculiarity that you just can't put your finger on).

DJing throughout the night will be:

JEREMY WARMSLEY; singer/songwriter/producer/choon-spinning-megabeast. He enjoys reading, wildlife documentaries and not playing chess. One day he will grow a moustache and when he does it will surely be his most celebrated output.

GRAHAM BENDEL; author/director/demon-on-the-decks. Graham directed the highly acclaimed "Billy Childish is Dead" and has written two volumes of poetry and a novel for Fortune Teller Press (featuring artwork by CLIVE BARKER!), as well as numerous articles for The Big Issue, New Statesman, Hotdog, and Prospect.

Our favourite spoken word artist in the world NIALL SPOONER-HARVEY will be compering, a man who makes rock happen with nothing but air. English is his guitar and his lungs are his plectrum.

The Woe Betides will also be playing live of course, and expanding our band from a mere two people to a whopping three with a real live drummer, and we may have a sneaky appearance on stage from someone else... that's four!

It's also a chance to get your filthy little mittens on a copy of the EP before anyone else in the world.

Standard entry is £5, but email us for the Crunch-friendly list!
