Nick Cave's most underrated album (and maybe even his best)? Everyone tends to go on about the albums before (Tender Prey) and after (Henry's Dream), but this seems to be the first album where he gets the balance of ballads and bombast just right. The Witness Song has got to be one of his best "preacherman" vocals, the harmonica outro to Lucy could make a grown man cry, and...like...The Ship Song. Obviously.
