has re-opened today - just popped along to check it out

has been pretty radically refurbished - now much more of a bar/venue than a record shop ... on the minus side, seems to be stocking even less records than before (I counted less than 50, although they may not have finished putting them out) and they're displayed behind the bar so you can't browse them as easily as before (although there are a couple of vinyl listening posts so presume you can check them out on request) ... on the plus side, they sell drinks (including booze!) and it's decked out nicely with plenty of places to sit

makes sense to me ... it was never going to be a viable business selling a handful of records and the main draw was always the instore performances ... now at least they can sell drinks (and the odd record) to the punters and it's a much more comfortable place to hang around while waiting for the band to start
