Music Social More…

So, that whole orchestral indie folk pop thing was nice and all, but can I have my rock music back now please?

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 09:43, 5 March '09

I think I've had this semi-rant before, but what the hell...

I'm very bored of all this Arcade Fire / Annuals / Devastations / Fleet foxes / Animal Collective / singer songwriter stuff now. Sure it was nice having some attractive girls at gigs for a bit, but I'm pretty much done with niceties. I put it down to everyone being vaguely happy in recent years and having nothing much of interest to say.

So, with there being a recession and all, will the youth of today rise up in frustration and create lots of vitriolic, but tune laden, rock? I'm thinking DFA1979 / mclusky / sixbyseven / atd-in / qotsa / millionaire / idlewild / trail of dead-esque material. Or is this musical wave sweeping the land already and I'm merely missing it?

Because whilst I like Boris, they're a bit hard work sometimes. And whilst I thought that whole 'Shred yr own face' tour lineup was pretty decent, I conversely felt like a lot of it was a bit throwaway or 'been there done that' (Note: aren't Fucked Up just Mudhoney?).

I need some noise in my life. Recommendations or thoughts please:
