I have promised my aunt that I would fill an iPod full of music for my mum, however she's just given me the iPod: no installation discs. I have avoided infecting my hardware with iTunes successfully since its inception, and it would be jolly good if I could keep it that way, although given I don't have an mp3 player of my own at the mo I'm not all that bothered, if it's possible to get rid of it afterwards.

So my questions are: Would it be possible to use any other music program to transfer mp3s/wmas to an iPod? If not, can I get hold of iTunes without a lot of bother, or will it need installation discs or money and such?
