Charlottefield - What are Friends For

Lordjamwad [Edit] [Delete] 20:23, 12 March '09

10/10.

I picked this album up for £4 (!) a year or so ago becuase i liked their last one. Gave it a couple of listens, thought "yeah it's alright, but it's not as good as the debut", and put it aside.
I then randomly decided to listen to it again last month.
And now I don't think i've ever been as obsessed with an album as much as this one. And i'm not sure why.

Maybe it's the obvious things, like the amazing rhythm section and simple but incredibly effective guitar work. And the vocals.
Or maybe it's the subtler things. Like the absolutely perfect track order, the album's perfect length and the production.
Or maybe it's something more. Like how i can listen to it whatever mood i'm in. Like how i still hear new stuff when i listen to it for the 30th time. Like how it's probably one of the best albums ever.

Sorry I'm gushing. But it's a fucking brilliant record.

Now go buy it.
