Punk vs. Post-Punk?

Violator [Edit] [Delete] 19:48, 2 April '09

Ok, well judging by the response to the shoegaze vs. grunge thread, it might be interesting to ask another question - what do people prefer - punk or post-punk? This one is a question to which I find myself more assured in answering because if I had a favourite genre of music, it would certainly be post-punk, and if there was ever a genre to which I could not name one established band that I like, it's punk.

Still, I can offer all sorts of reasons, but my view will always be ultimately subjective. So punk vs. post punk - make your contribution for posterity.
