Another "how do I get my guitar to sound like this?" thread, but this is better because it's a cooler guitar sound than that clean, math-y style.

I think Speedo has the best guitar sound ever. There's a particularly distinctive bite to it and I want to rip it off. Anyone got any idea how I would go about doing that?

My 'set up' is this:

1 Fender telecaster
1 amp (make of which I can't remember) that is quite cheap, but has a good range of sound

What's needed? There might be some other sods out there who want to know the same thing.

Try to keep the details as laymens and not-boring as possible. I love guitars and love playing them, but I've a low interest level for all the technical jargon.
