US bands that 'sound like but are better than' U.K bands, and visa versa

Violator [Edit] [Delete] 22:24, 28 April '09

This is a good way of competing American bands/ artists against British ones and at the same time creating a bank of information which can help everyone discover new bands.

This is how it should work: name one band from the U.S which sound like but are better than a U.K band, and then trade it back by naming a U.K band which sound like but is better than a U.S band. Obviously use > to mean 'sounds like but is better than'.

Easy one:
She Wants Revenge > White Lies
Joy Division > Interpol

Something like that. As I say that was easy, and I know there are people who can come up with far more exciting stuff.
