Swine flu and the future of gigs and festivals.

russtyeh [Edit] [Delete] 23:26, 30 April '09

Firstly i apologies for starting another swine flu thread.

Its not i am particularly worried about swine flu but if you look at what is happening the future of gigs and festivals in the near future could be uncertain.

We are now on phase 5 of a pandemic according to the WHO. If we move up to phase 6 which is seeming increasingly likely as things are going, all it takes for phase 6 is for an outbreak similar to Mexico's to occur in a another country.

When we are in phase 6 the WHO will advise goverments to cancel some mass gatherings eg sports events, music events. So do you think that the future of festivals and gigs in the near future has now become uncertain? Or is this unlikely?

Either way the phases aren't just media hype, so it could happen.
