Wedding DJing - advice needed...

LunchboxOneupmanship [Edit] [Delete] 15:08, 7 May '09

We’re planning our wedding in August, and could do with a bit of advice with the DJ set-up for the evening… Our idea is to put together a bank of about 200-250 songs and just get our mates to DJ, but we don’t know what gear to go for. We were gonna use laptops, but have ran into a world of trouble (mainly due to our laptops being old and shitty), so now we’re thinking the best way might be to invest in some CD decks, and burn the songs to a series of blank CDs. Anyone able to recommend any particular model of CD decks? Must be straightforward to use, reliable and able to play CD-Rs…

Also, any other ideas for what set-up we could go with? There’s always the iPod option, but I think we’d prefer to keep that as a fallback option lest anything goes horribly wrong…
