Did anyone else make it to the Grails show at Corsica Studios last night? I was disappointed after turning up around 8pm to see that they weren't on til 10pm and only playing for one hour. WTF!? I was looking forward to a longer set after seeing them the night before at The Jesus Lizard show. The warm-up consisted of two separate hour long sets from the same DJ, with a half an hour set from another band in between (didn't rate them, FWIW). Seemed strange to me. As their only headlining show in the UK on a fairly rare European tour, I was expecting quite a bit more - there's no shortage of material to play and they struck me as a band more inclined to longer, jammed-out sets, if anything. Their stage setup has a shitload of gear, as well - who could be arsed to pack and unpack all that for a one hour set!??

I considered going home and coming back just before 10pm, but the door staff weren't allowing re-entry even with a hand stamp, so I fucked it off and went home anyway.

Pffffft.
