Compilation Albums

Bassdrum13 [Edit] [Delete] 18:06, 8 June '09

I love making eclectic compilation albums with a general theme, particularly when I have a long drive coming up.

I've been toying with the idea of making albums with more production. By that I mean mixing (or at least crossfading) tracks into one another and overlaying intros or instrumentals with little soundbites (quotes from movies, famous speeches etc) in a cool pink-floyd-esque way. Has anyone out there done anything like this before? If so what software would you suggest? I did an album with crossfading using Audacity (I think that was what it's called, I often get it mixed up with another programme).

Does anyone have any suggestions/examples?
