BAND POPULATION CRISIS!?

mOnkton [Edit] [Delete] 13:06, 13 July '09

Quoted on TAL Podcast a while back:

"According to recent studies there will be more people in bands than the global economy can ever hope to support. The US census bureau puts the current number of audience members to band members at a ratio of 2 to 1. But present trends threaten to reverse this relationship disrupting the delicate balance between performers and normal people."

Apparently there is actually an annual conference that meets to discuss this 'delicate balance'. Incredible.

DiScuss: Do we face an economic/social apocalypse caused by too many bands? Will we one day live in a music utopia/dystopia in which your average Joe comes complete with his own jing jang jongs and 'Best Of' compilation?? Should we brace ourselves for a racial war between 'performers' and 'normal people'? Who's side are YOU on?
