I have just watched (well, glanced at) some 'top' pop videos namely Lady Gaga in a wheelchair being edgy and challenging and La Roux (a song I really like) trying to look bulletproof and strong but just looking a bit silly. I feel embarrassed for them, I actually sensed a feeling of wincing and thinking "I wish someone had said - 'that looks a bit dramarama, shall we just get some actors in'". Who advises these people? Are these videos just made for 13 year old girls who wear gold plaited headbands and Natasha Khan eye make up?

3. Ugly/fat men with gorgeous girls all around them - basically 99% of the American charts
2. Performance by band intercut with 'intense drama' scenes starring, usually, the pretty singer. For some reason I am getting the name Maroon 5 in my head
1. Earnest singing in to the camera and excess emoting whilst doing ridiculous dancing. Who sings their heart out whilst body popping?

Has anyone seen a good video that compliments the track/entertains/engages in a good way? Please show me.
