I bought this album when it came out in 2007, after really liking the song "Eloise" on a Mojo compilation CD. It was a beautiful shimmery tune, and I was quite excited when the album came out. But I was quite underwhelmed when I listned to it, and after a couple of listens it was put away at the back of the collection.

By chance I dug it out today and gave it another go. The guy has a nice sound - gauzy, shoegazery guitar textures and some nice production, but for me there is a lack of strong tunes, and the vocals are pretty wimpy and quite annoying. There's definitely potential there - maybe his new album will be a winner?

Anyone else with any thoughts on this album? Am I being too harsh or is it just not very good?
