I have always absolutely loved the Flaming Lips, simply for the sheer diversity of what they do and the fact that, to me at least, after making albums for nearly twenty years, they are still producing really amazing music. But I swear I have never actually met anyone elsewho knew any Flaming Lips albums, or songs, before Yoshimi battles the Pink Robots. This isn't an elitist rant about how exclusive they are etc, they do seem to get loads of reviews and press, yet they are never exactly a name that is on the tips of peoples tongues if you know what I mean.....
