Wind's Poem (fuckingbeautifulcentric).

Luis_Carruthers [Edit] [Delete] 16:10, 15 August '09

Mount Eerie's Wind's Poem is the best record Phil Elverum has released under that moniker. It is the first Mount Eerie record to demonstrate the heartfelt intensity and dark atmosphere that made the Microphones great. The "black metal" approach is mostly a red herring, though some tracks have walls of squalling guitar that wouldn't sound out of place on a Xasthur record, this album doesn't sound like an attempt to squish Elverum's songs into a preconceived sound. Rather, it sounds more like everything that made the Microphones great.
