Interpol vs Pavement

SCROTUM [Edit] [Delete] 02:51, 19 August '09

Lines in the sand please. Two Matador behemoths of the past twenty years.

As someone whose teeth were cut in mid-Noughties 'indie', I fall strongly into the Interpol camp. Getting Turn On The Bright Lights at the end of a Biology class off a friend (who borrowed it from his older sister) when I was 14 - off the back of hearing Evil - was probably the best thing any of my peers have ever done for me. Still to this day nothing gets close. I know they've dropped off slightly by album but I still rep them, song-for-song, as one of the best bands ever.

I have been getting into Pavement more as of late, but the 'click' has yet to fully occur and I'm starting to think it was a mid-90s thing that might never arrive for me?
