Caring about what people think about the music you make

ehwhat [Edit] [Delete] 18:14, 21 August '09

Now, I've often pondered this. The whole "I don't read any reviews" thing you hear from artists...'cos the bad reviews just depress you and the good ones just inflate your ego, supposedly.

I think I can say, hand on heart that I wouldn't care one bit if someone didn't like something that I recorded. If you're putting stuff out there, making music that you expect people to listen to, surely it's not a great idea to take people's opinions on board, right?

I mean it'd break my heart to imagine some artist I really liked recording something, then reading a dodgy review of it and that having an impact on the next thing they did.

I wanted to word this better...bit more flowery-like.

but...yeh.
