Music Social More…

All mainstream pop songs remind me of walking past builders and overhearing their radio.

Like the Black Eyed Peas song that has apparently been at Number One for ages - my only exposure to it has been when I'm walking past scaffolding.

Holiday by Dizzee Rascal I only hear on the occasional lunch break I spend in greasy spoon occupied solely by semi-skilled manual labourers.

Some people I know love all that music, and not in a Yannis Philippakis I'm-so-full-circle-indie-I'm-actually-into-Miley-Cyrus way, but GENUINELY

A work colleague texted me to say how good the new Sophie Ellis Bextor song is - and who'd have fucking thought? A soulless electro non-starter groaning under the weight of its own overcompression, featuring the line 'heartbreak give me a dancer, DJ give me an answer'

Fuck. that.
