"The band had earlier teased the audience by setting up their own equipment while the crowd were waiting after The Big Pink's set had finished. They stoked the frenzied atmosphere even more by waving and clapping in the fans' direction as they set up."

I love the way they try to cover festival sets while still clinging to a standard news-writing style. It makes them sound like they're written by some straight-laced middle-aged BBC reporter transported from the 1950s.
