Swapping a good gig (65dos) for a crap one (White Lies)

Stuzza [Edit] [Delete] 17:25, 20 November '09

So I had tickets to see 65dos and TTT on Wednesday at Heaven but had this stomach bug thing (no details) which meant I couldn't go.

As a result, I took my wife's place the following (last) night to see... White Lies and GOD it was AWFUL. I was probably just being a grumpy **** anyway given the turn of events BUT

(a) are young people these days really incapable of watching bands without being completely paralytic (like really really), shouting at each other continually all the way through, and throwing beer all over each other? GOD it was like a club 18-30 disco (er possibly)

(b) are they really deserving of a Rock God, coming on as late as they can manage, roadies laying out towels reverently, status? There was a brilliant bit during the gig set up where they had a roadie standing at the different microphones while another one made sure the spot lights were shining correctly into his face. As my mate said how else would they get this right, but it looked SO wanky

(c) thanks for using the brilliant device of slowing down your songs live just so you can speed up the bits that are meant to be impressive and epic; and

(d) earnestly fist-pumping front men esp of that stature are a no no.

ANYWAY thanks for that. How was the gig I missed?
