Weekend purchases

Pay day = new records. Excellent.

Anduin - Abandoned In Sleep: Absolutely incredible. I really dug his first album, but this is on a whole other level. Like some strange hybrid of delta blues, dark ambient and doom metal.

Oneohtrix Point Never - Rifts: Classic polysynth and analogue drone. Already own the first disc on vinyl, but looking forward to checking out the second.

Zelienople - Give It Up: Was really looking forward to hearing this one and it doesn't disappoint. Think a lot of people on here would dig it: super-hazy production, elements of shoegaze, ambient and folk. First track sounds like Slowdive meets Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore.

Ben Frost - By The Throat: Finally turned up after the postal strike...already had the download for a few weeks and it's one of my favourite records of the year. The press release referred to it as the electronic counterpoint to Monoliths And Dimensions, which isn't too far from the truth.

Cold Cave - Cremations: Prefer it to Love Comes Close...murkier and more nihilistic, although the failure to EQ all the tracks makes listening on headphones a bit of a no no.

What about yourselves?
