SUNN 0))) vs X Factor in Gateshead last night

soapy [Edit] [Delete] 13:32, 8 December '09

on the way home from ATP I stopped off at the Sage to see SUNN 0))) and Skullflower(?) play in Hall2

outside between the two halls is a large space for viewing, cafe, bar, a nice general big open space. Joe from the X Factor was performing to hundreds of screaming hysterical kids (and more than a few screaming hysterical adults.
The cameras doing the crowd shots were by the bar on the balcony outside Hall 2. So on next weeks X Factor there will be shots of big crowd with 3 tiers of screaming hysterical fans hanging from the balconies around, bar one which will be just out of shot and populated solely by grumpy bearded young men in black hoodies.

Joe is also a lot more rubbish at singing in the flesh than when his voice gets televised.

SUNN 0))) on the other hand are incredible in the flesh, playing in a near total blackout with fog so thick you could barely make out the towering omnious figure of Attila dominating the front of the stage.

the support band only played for just over 15 minutes, I suspect this might be because of the X Factor event happening outside.
