i realize that a million permutations of this topic have lived and died, and for that i apologize...but i'm getting a new pair of amazing headphones - ultrasone hfi-550s, with supposedly astounding surround-type sound - and i'm agonizing (read: nerding out) over what album to listen to first.

my first instinct is 'ok computer', but i started second-guessing myself by theorizing that recording/production techniques have come a far way since 1997. (on a related note: some posts i came across on other threads were completely trashing the production on 'in rainbows' which baffled me a bit).

suggestions/thoughts?
