Music Social More…

I saw Polly Scattergood playing with a friend's band at the Hope & Anchor a few years back and she literally the worst thing ever.

Turgid, bland, meandering, no stage presence and (quite rightly at the time) no-one in the audience really cared. Yet now I keep hearing her name everywhere.

Has she suddenly got better or what's happened there? I mean I assume if I saw <insert famous artist> at a small before they were famous there'd be some spark of charisma or talent or something that, even if I didn't appreciate, I'd think "yeah, I might hate this but I can see how the songs are a bit catchy or whatever". But there wasn't anything at all.
