Ok, 'Seek Magic' by Memory Tapes is generally liked but is it respected as much as it should be?

Violator [Edit] [Delete] 17:53, 24 January '10

Jesus, even I didn't really get into it at first - with the exception of 'Bicycle' and 'Green Knight' - but I have recently gone back to explore it in it's entirety and by God, it's a fucking great album - isn't it?

I don't just mean a good album but really 'great', as in "should have got the same recognition M83 got with 'Saturdays = Youth' great". It's quite simply a stirring, moving, imaginative piece of electro-pop wonder - surely it should be more than liked - should it not also be getting recognition and respect from all quarters or something - surely?

I am probably making a big fuss about nothing to be fair. At the end of the day, who cares, as long you personally like it, eh? But am I the only one who thinks this? Why are people not still going on about this and comparing synth and electro to it in the same way we compare 'nu-gaze' bands and their ilk to 'Loveless' or 'Nowhere'? Where's the impact?
