Albums with great dynamics

TheSoundofBastards [Edit] [Delete] 19:47, 8 February '10

Thinking about albums with great dynamics- where you can really feel a shift in momentum, and each instrument is given room to breathe and there's a real difference between quiet and louder parts.

The first one I think of is Slint's Spiderland, Washer sounds so eerie and then explodes out of the speakers, and not to mention the climax of Good Morning Captain.
Others- Pixies' Surfer Rosa, Mogwai Young Team..

With the current tendency to compress things when mastering for 'loudness', are there any recent records with good dynamics?
