Music Social More…

Is it actually immature or naive to prefer indie bands aimed at 15-years-olds?

Wojibot [Edit] [Delete] 14:19, 18 February '10

Bombay Bicycle Club, Tubelord, The Maccabees etc?

I just turned 21. The more I dig deeper into the music industry the more I find bands that are trying too hard; the more I find sub-genres that secretly wish they had 15-year-olds going crazy at their gigs, instead of boring twenty-somethings standing there 'appreciating'.

They seem to be trying to squeeze a good tune out of dried up talent.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I hate the whole "fuck mainstream NME shit!" attitude.

After a while of listening to Gang Gang Dance I seem to have to cleanse my ears with a bit of Taking Back Sunday - the stuff I grew up with.

There's nothing wrong with a catchy, honest-to-god pop punk or indie song.
