Digital Economy Bill

GoatmeatMF [Edit] [Delete] 11:09, 8 April '10

http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2009-10/digitaleconomy.html

So this was passed in Parliament last night and is getting royally assented today.

Have you read it at all?

In relation to copyright infringements/downloading/piracy; in short - It reads like a load of crap! I can’t find anywhere that actually says how they will specifically know the content of internet activity. Pretty sure they're not about to employ a thousand people to watch everyone's internets. It doesn't read well at all, from the perspecive of anyone involved in media even slightly below the surface of mainstream. It's concept of file-sharing is both so vague and narrow-minded, and their main concern seems to be all the lost X Factor revenue – they actually name that program in the bill. Unbelievable.

This sounds like it’s going to be a pain in the arse for everyone.

They are my ill-conceived reactionary thoughts. Yours?
