ATP Pavement - how was it for you thread

kmart [Edit] [Delete] 00:11, 17 May '10

Back early from ATP Pavement. Was overall very good.

HIGHS

The extra set in reds; Don't Look Back show - Prince's Purple Rain LP, courtesy of Wax Fang. Hilarious and utterly brilliant. Wax Fang's own set was amazing too - proper stadium rock.

Monotonix - it only took 5 mins for the place to erupt and security to shut the place down. Pure excitement and totally unjustified in the powers that be cancelling the show. At no point did anyone pose a risk to the safety of others, so why were the security so heavy handed?

Pavement - I'm not the biggest fan, but the atmosphere was electric, sound amazing and generally an outstanding performance.

The Walkmen - shame about the power failure halfway through, great set otherwise

OTHER STUFF
I enjoyed Surfer Blood, Broken Social Scene, Camera Obscura. Blitzen Trapper were really good in places; I'm told Mark Eitzel was amazing, Boris not so amazing; and the Fall pulled in a massive crowd. Atlas Sound sounded horrible.
