The Best Gig you have ever attended

shinymcshine [Edit] [Delete] 18:23, 26 May '10

I've been to a fair number of gigs. But for me three stand out.

1. ...and you will know us by the trail of dead - Glasgow QMU - Around 2001-2002 - This was the first time I had seen this band. Seen them quite a few times since then but they have never quite bettered this performance. Energy, madness and destroying equipment converted every person in the venue to a fervent fan.

2. The Rapture - Glasgow ABC - Around 2006 - 2007 - I have never seen a predominantly hipster, too laid back to give a fuck audience get so quickly swept away by a band's enthusiasm and downright funkiness. Tha place was jumping and normally it's full of twats standing at the bar prattling on about crap. Plus lots of cowbell action.

3. Brian Wilson - T in the Park - 2007? - It probably helped that I was in a, ahem, receptive mood when I saw him but The Beach Boys music is ultimately suited for festival singalongs. I loved everyone all around me, vocally and with added hugs.

Any one gig that stands out for you? Or three if you can't decide? The devil is in the detail remember.
