I'm happy to confirm that Calvin Johnson is coming back to Liverpool this summer!

He's playing at Leaf Tea Shop & Bar on 2nd August. He's doing some other UK dates but I think this will be his only North West gig.

Giving Calvin Johnson's influence on the us alternative scene, I'd say he's more of an "indie legend" than Daniel Johnston, for instance, who is just a mess, a poor old guy with mental health problems and not as many good songs as Calvin...not to mention that Calvin Johnson is a great performer, too!

His solo performances are amazing...seeing him playing something like "What Was Me", just his voice and acoustic guitar, with no amplification at all (he doesn't sing on mics) is just amazing!
