Elvis Costello @ Meltdown, Royal Festival Hall

SurfsUp [Edit] [Delete] 14:43, 21 June '10

Amazing solo set which was mostly just him on acoustic except for a few songs at the end where Richard Thompson came out. Never seen EC before despite being a fan for ages but was amazed by the power and quality of his voice, especially as he's knocking on a bit. Highlights were a jawdropping performance of Good Year For The Roses, a lively Gods Comic and a version of Every Day I Write the Book I'll be working out on guitar later tonight! Only lowlights were the occasional dicking about with effects pedals and that some of the classics were forsaken for newbies but you can't really blame him for that.

Anyone else go to this?
