Cassettes? Pffft. Beat this, retro format fetishists.

Apparently a track called 'Sewer', from the album 'Now That's What I Call Steampunk! Volume 1' by The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing is the first official release by a british band on Wax Cylinder since 1922.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10171206 has a stream of the track.

"Each limited edition pack contained the full CD, the track "Sewer" recorded on the wax cylinder, a "lyrics newspaper", and a set of instructions on how to build a phonograph so you can play the cylinder for less than £20."

Send your own recording by post or e-mail and have it made into a wax cylinder by http://www.poppyrecords.co.uk/CXP000/cxp000.htm (10 or more blanks - £5.00 each plus postage from http://www.paulmorrismusic.co.uk/WaxCylinders.asp )

(I know this looks JAGgy, but I've no connection with any of 'em. The whole thing just reminded me of the cassette thread lulz)
