I'd like to publically confess that I am in love with the most recent Hot Chip record

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 01:43, 21 August '10

Sure, I've mentioned it a few times on here. And maybe I've had a few beers. But I don't think I've loved a record as much as this for a good few years now.

If I was giving it a mark out of 10, it'd be a 9.5. And this is someone who struggles to feel comfortable awarding an 8 to a record that is frankly awesome.

It's everything I could ever look for in a record. Sentimental, uplifting, poignant, upbeat, catchy, forward thinking yet reverential... the record I hoped New Order might return with. I might shave 45 seconds off of 'Slush', but otherwise it's utterly faultless in my eyes.

I just don't understand where it came from? I liked their other records, but never expected them to pull out a record of this magnitude. If I could die right now, listening to it in the background, I honestly believe I'd die a complete man.

Do you love it too? If not, why the living fuck not? And what do you have a boner for instead?

'One life stand' then. Pretty fucking awesome.
