Basically any band that can make you feel like you're the only one to see through their PR-burnished outer shells to the drecks that lie within. Kinda like 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper and the aliens in They Live! For me right now, Avi Buffalo are the prime targets. Far too happy-clappy and insipid but it seems to be doing it for others (although admittedly they aren't massive).
