The Interpol backlash backlash thread

ashstreath85 [Edit] [Delete] 01:21, 16 September '10

Right.

Just got back from the gig at Heaven, and I saw a band in the form of their life. Relaxed, confident, augmented by two new members who fit like a glove, and with a hell of a back catalogue to choose from now.

I'm sick of the decline narrative that's being trotted out, which has got really tiresome of late, and has started to include Antics being touted as a middling effort. Listen to Antics. Actually go and listen to it. Not a bad track on there.

The s/t is deep, dark and slow, and will take some time to settle. Lights is prime Interpol, and the slinky bassline of Barricade - so good.

Remember, Interpol are one of the greatest bands of the last ten years - they have more to give.
