Albums/bands that seem to have been written out of history

Royter-Hatfood [Edit] [Delete] 15:17, 11 October '10

According to last.fm I've listened to 'Robespierre's Velvet Basement' by the Jacobites about a million times. It's just really really good. Not stunningly original in places, but I can't think of many (any) examples of that type of music being done better. But trying to read up on them in an 'I'm bored at work' way is a fairly thankless task, it's like they've been written out of the traditional (tedious) history of rock narrative. The same goes for Artery, who usually have the word 'seminal' attached to descriptions of them but don't actually seem to generate any interest. Erm...not really much of a point to this thread though. Erm.

Recommendations of inexplicably unpopular bands? And I don't mean Lithuanian Spoon Jazz merchants, just forgotten great albums. Or something. Shut up.
